For owners of significant rural and agricultural assets, achieving the right result requires more than simply taking a property to market. It requires a clear understanding of the asset, its productive capacity, the market and the buyers capable of recognising its value.
For professional and corporate owners, that understanding is particularly important when marketing complex or high-value assets. Robert has experience working with private landowners, family farming enterprises and major agricultural companies, including transactions involving strategic acquisitions and significant agricultural investments. His sales record includes Exmoor, Faust Farming, Dray Family Farming, Grosvenor, Billy Creek, Bluevale and Ainsley, as well as numerous cane farms throughout the Mackay and Proserpine districts.
Among his notable transactions, Robert handled the sale of Exmoor Station, acquired by Tassal for $28 million, and Billy Creek near Proserpine, which sold for $7 million and subsequently formed part of Tassal’s prawn farming operations in the region. More recently, Robert sold Durrandella, a 25,700-hectare grazing property in Central Queensland, for $22.5 million at auction. Other recent transactions include 54 Sants Road, Habana, which sold for $7.5 million, and 174 Habana Wharf Road, which achieved $5.9 million at auction.
With experience across auction, expressions of interest, private treaty and direct negotiation, Robert does not take a one-size-fits-all approach to selling rural property. The campaign and method of sale need to reflect the asset, prevailing market conditions, the depth of the buyer pool and the vendor’s objectives. His philosophy is straightforward: know the property, understand the market, communicate openly and work hard for the owner. That practical approach has been reinforced by a strong track record within the Elders network. Robert has been named No. 1 Rural Sales Agent in Queensland and has achieved Master Agent status three times.
While the scale of the transactions and recognition throughout his career speak to his experience, Robert remains focused on what matters most to vendors: understanding the opportunity, presenting the asset to the right market and working through the transaction to achieve the strongest possible outcome.
After more than 27 years in the industry, Robert continues to value the fundamentals of rural real estate — getting onto the property, understanding its potential, meeting buyers and negotiating successful outcomes. For owners of significant rural, agricultural and grazing assets across North and Central Queensland, that combination of regional knowledge, transaction experience and practical market understanding provides a strong foundation for achieving the right result.
If you’re thinking about selling your property and you’d like a clearer picture of how much your property might be worth or want to have an informal chat about general property market trading conditions, Robert will be happy to arrange a full market appraisal of your property.
